The mission of Greater Phoenix Leadership is to improve the greater Phoenix area and the State of Arizona by bringing together talent, resources, and leadership to create action on priority issues.
GPL, working through its committees, taskforces and their respective members, interacts with community organizations interested in the three to four primary objectives identified annually by GPL. Major issues must contain the following criteria:
- Issues not getting proper attention that affect Maricopa County and the State of Arizona. Problems and opportunities of major proportions.
- Issues in which tangible results can be affected.
- Issues in which GPL is the best organization to take the lead.
- Issues that are non-partisan in nature.
- Issues that affect the business community, but that do not primarily serve the self-interest of any specific business group.
- Issues that have a potential for improving the quality of life in the State of Arizona.
- Issues in which GPL has a capacity to develop the necessary resources to produce tangible results.
